So you want it to look something like this: I'm using the Asus Xonar DG, so for that you want to open your Xonar DG Audio Center and down in the lower right corner there are two green circular buttons above where it says "DSP mode" you want to make sure that the letters in "GX" are white, it's a little weird, but I figured out that when the letters are white it means GX mode is off and when they are grey it means GX mode is on, kind of unintuitive but you'll notice the button appears pressed and unpressed for on and off.
